Route description
This is a short walk, just 1,5 km, on the edge of the Viti crater in the Krafla caldera. Viti means "hell", as icelanders thought such a crater was a door to the hell.
There is another famous Viti crater in the Askja caldera
The path is not long nor difficult, except for the mud in some points. You'll take pictures of the lake inside the crater from al positions, but we also suggest you to go toward these secondary craters to enjoy all the different entity in such a small area:
Only a volcanic area such as this could hold so many environments in such a small space, really a charming setting
