Route description

We start froml mount Scavo refuge, looking at a wonderful landscape with old lava flows and old craters. In this section, we point out the following point of interest:

  • Mount Nunziata grotto
  • An old shepards building
  • A birches tree wood

In just 4km, we reach Mount Palestro refuge (is closed as the others...), we are at the maximum height of the whole path, almost 2000 meters above sea level. From now on. the path will keep descend constantly. Next step: Galvarina refuge.
