Route description
The first section is the same path leading to the "grotta del Gelo". We startfrom the barrier at the path beginning, so we already are 2km faraway from Ragabo/Brunek refuges. We walk over 2002 lava flow, crossing the stone forest. The path is really easy to walk through, we point out the following point of interest:
- Mount Rossello picnic area
- 1911 craters
- Some trees hardly challenged by mount Etna
- The fork towards Palombe grotto
- A small altar
- Femmine Grotto
- Firs "rope" lava flow
We get the Lamponi Grotto, after 6km walking. To explore the cave, leave the track and go over for a few meters, you can download the pictures with the gpx/kml track. We go right, heading refuge Santa Maria, our next step.
