Route description
The Matheson lake, in front of the New Zealand glaciers, is one of the most popular "postcard spots" in the whole country, due to the impressive reflection of the mountains on its surface. Unfortunately, we was here on a rainy day so there was not so much to see.
Short description of the path around the lake: The only landscape we could see was not so impressive, but it was a nice walk as well, also due to mani info about plants and trees all around the lake:

- The putaputaweta, or marbleleaf, endemic in New Zealand
- A Montain toatoa
- New Zealand linen plants
- A Koru of the Wheki fern, AKA fern of the raw trunk
- A Prince of Wales fern
