Rifugio Manfre is a small, privately managed mountain lodge in Mount Etna National Park (Eastern Sicily close to the city of Catania). We are approximately 45mins drive from Catania Airport and 10mins from Rifugio Sapienza where you can access the cable car to central craters. The lodge is nestled in a beautiful forest of chestnut, hazelnut and oaktrees at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level allowing for a convenient starting point for your trekking or mountain biking adventures. Signposted hiking route 786 and E1 pass along the lodge between the town of Belpasso and Piano Vetore, which is the starting point of ‘Altomontana’ path.
The lodge offers accommodation for up to 10 people, bookable either in private or shared basis. Please always check for availability and accommodation options during your planned holiday. For summer 2018 we are introducing a camping option, using either your own tents or by renting one from us! When you choose to sleep in a tent our service still includes access to the bar, showers and bathrooms.
Outside we have pic-nic tables and and a serviced BBQ where you can bring and prepare your own food whereas we provide all other essentials such as plates, glasses, bowls, charcoal etc.
Rifugio Manfrè is open all year round, keep in mind that reservation is mandatory for all services.
