A very nice path inside the "Genova" valley, where the "Sarca" river flows (between the "Adamello" and the "Presanella" mounts). It's one of the official paths of the Adamello nature park. It starts from the Carisolo village, access by car it's strictly regulated. There are some toll car parkings and a bus leading to the end of the path (with many stops), so that you can enjoy the trail bu walk or bicycle. Find more info at http://www.pnab.it/vivere-il-parco/come-muoversi/con-la-mobilita-del-parco/mobilita-val-genova.html (italian language) or http://www.pnab.it/en.html.
We suggest to leave the the car at the F4 parking and start walking from here (or take the bus). We walked on the street until we found the Nardis falls (one of the most beautiful in the whole area), then we realized that the real hiking trail is parallel to the street and started walking on it just crossing a bridge shortly after the falls. Now the path is inside the wood , we rise a bit until we find the "Casol" falls , than the trail come close to the street level.
There are many waterfalls along the path, we point out the following ones:
- Lares falls
- Folgarida falls
- Casina Muta falls
- Pedruc falls
WARNING! On maps and park brochure, the distance between the F4 parking and the "Malga Bedole" (the bus terminal) is reported to be 14 km, but pay attention: this is the length of the paved road, the walking trail is much longer as it goes far away from the street many times in order to reach the falls. Besides, at the Malga Bedole there is nothing to eat or drink, once you get there you have to walk one more km until you reach the refuge "Bedole" .
To make it short: plan carefully your path, because if you decide to walk from F4 parks to the refuge "Bedole", you'll have to walk for 19 km and not for 14! According to our experience, we suggest to:
- Leave the car at the F4 parking
- Walk for half the path
- Have your packed lunch (or eat in one of the refuges along the path, although there is no refuge at half the way)
- Reach "Malga Bedole" ore "Bedole" refuge and then come back by bus
The path is really nice, but 19km with 700m difference in height is quite demanding, we don't suggest to walk all the path unless you are trained.
Difficulty: medium
Difference in height: 700 m
Maximum height: 1700 m
Length: 18 km
Duration of journey: 5 - 7 hours
Suggested season: summer
Technical equipment : required
