The path starts from the Vallesinella refuge (car access is restricted; you can park in Madonna di Campiglio and then move there by bus, check http://www.campigliodolomiti.it/lang/EN/pagine/dettaglio/trasporti_e_mobilita,119/bus_navetta_vallesinella,222.html).
Let’s start walking towards the "cascate alte di Vallesinella" (the "High Vallesinella waterfalls"), inside the wood , following the trail 382. Walking close to the river we quickly reach the bottom of the waterfalls . An easy path rises towards the top, with the help of stairs and bridges we can really enjoy the falls at their best. At the top of the waterfalls turn right, follow the path 317 towards Casinei refuge .
We reach the refuge after 3,5 km and 300 meters elevation gain. Here we’ve found one of the best cakes of our vacation (Ricotta pie), just a short break before restart walking on the trail no° 318, towards the refuge Brentei. The path rise costantly, slowly leaving the wood to lead you among the Brenta Dolomites . On the path we point out a small gallery digged during the first world war and a snow-covered area where we suggest to be careful.
After the lunch break, we decided to come back toward the Casinei refuge on a different path, the no° 391 . This trail is a bit more difficult and demanding of the previous one: first, there is a steep descent on the gravel, then it goes smoothly until some chains placed to help crossing a very narrow area. On some areas the trail collapsed , we saw a girl completely unable to go further, so evaluate carefully your skills and conditions before walking on this trail.
Once passing this area, the path goes easily through the wood until the Casinei refuge . Here, a steep descent lead us back at the Vallesinella refuge . We walked on a sort of "eight shapes path" to join these three refuges: start at Vallesinella, cross ad Casinei, return at Brentei. Overall we walked more than 14 km with almost 800 meters ascent (and descent).
