It’s an easy but demanding path, in the "val di Genova" (Genova Valley). Leave the car at the Malga Bedole Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: Malga Bedole (it is allowed to go by car only in the morning and in the evening, otherwise you are supposed to walk, cycle or take a bus). The first km is quite simple Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: first km is quite simple, leading to the Bedole refuge Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: Bedole refuge. From here starts a neverending sequence of steps on the trail 212, first inside the wood Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: inside the wood and then along the hillside Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: along the hillside. During the ascent there are a few streams Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: few streams, the panorama il very nice towards the valley Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: the valley and the mountains Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: the mountains. Close to the refuge there are some interesting spots: the "Julius Payer" glaciological center Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: julius payer glaciological center, the old war cemetery Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: war cemetery (first world war) and the small church Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: small church dedicated to mountain martyrs. Once you reach the refuge Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: reach the refuge, the landscape is really impressive. It is possible to stare looking at the lakes Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: the lakes below us and also at the melting glacer Malga Bedole - Mandron hut: melting glacer (only in summer time!), whose water reaches (and feeds) the Sarca river. The refuge is a good starting point for hikers willing to reach the small glacers or even reach the Tonale pass through the Maroccaro pass, facing path reserved to expert mountaineers. We just have some rest at the refuge before walking down through the same, never ending stairway we faced on the rising path. Overall we walked more than 10 km with 1000 meters ascent (and descent).
