The trail starts from the Gazzetta Hostel (www.ostellogazzetta.it) towards Orvieto, we are close to the Umbria and we'll leave Lazio in a few km. Say goodbye to the lake of Bolsena and let's walk on a quite trail, but soon the wood become thick and the track almost disappears, we walked for a while among the brambles before we exit the wood and reach an open field, a landscape which looks like the Tuscan hills.

The colors of the blooming campaign are really nice: yellow yellow), red (poppies and other flowers), purple and blue (look at this wonderful "fiordaliso", Cyanus segetum). Close to a pond, we also found many frogs and a few dragonflies. After 8km walking, we left the fields following this comfortable dirt road towards Orvieto.

These green hills are perfect for grazing sheeps; the path goes under an ancient bridge, from now on there is a long, steep descent towards Orvieto, from the hill the city seems floating in the sky. Our track ends at the village of Gabelletta, at the bottom of the descent, where we find a bar to drink something and have some rest.

The track length is 13km, but we started from the hostel and reached the the bottom of Orvieto. If you leave from the lake aiming Orvieto city center, there are 5 more km to walk! Be sure to plan carefully your excursion.
