Walking around Etna (May 2019)

Hello there

I'll be in Catania on Tuesday 28th May with my brother. We are wondering how easy/difficult/long in would take to walk around Etna.

Am I correct in thinking that it would be a good idea to take the bus to Sapienza Refuge (or Hotel Corsaro) and go from there?

I'll be very grateful for any advice you can give.

what do you exactly mean with "walk around Etna"? Are you looking for a complete round trip?
If you are willing for such a ring route, this is not possible.
The only tracks I know that allow to walk approximately around Mount Etna are listed below:

So, it seems that walking around Etna won't be possible. After a bit of research, it looks like I am going to book a night at the Corsaro Hotel (Monday 27th May) and then do a trekking route the next day.

I would be really interested to know if you think this is a good idea.

You can try the path described here to reach Torre del Filosofo and then try to reach summit craters:
