The valley of the "Cento Cascate" (one hundred waterfalls) aka "Cento Fonti" valley (one hundred springs valley) is inside the "Laga" mounts, in Abruzzo. It's a ring path starting from the village of Cesacastina (Teramo). The length depends on how close to the peak of Mount Gorzano you want to go before you decide to close the ring; we walked for 10km, rising for 800 meters.
We reach the starting point , from here is possible to go in both directions. We go left, looking at a nice wood . There is a small pin-nic area close to a penned torrent (due to a power plant). From here, we rise for a while inside the wood until we cross a dirt road which is part of the Sentiero Italia .
We arrive in front of a river , but we don't cross it now: the path continues rising towards the peak , keeping the river on our right , looking at the polished rocks and also at some small waterfalls . We decide to cross the river in order to start the descending path back towards the starting point. Just the time to look at the Gran Sasso peak and we say goodbye to the river , closing the ring path on a comfortable trail.
